Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society (VCRS)
The Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society (VCRS) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding of respiratory systems, focusing on enhancing animal health.

Advancing Veterinary Respiratory Care
At VCRS, our goal is to advance the field of respiratory medicine in veterinary care through research, education, and collaboration. We are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of animals through a better understanding of their respiratory systems and diseases.
The Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society sponsors both the VCRS Research Grant and The Joan A. O'Brien Research Award. The VCRS Research Grant provides funding for innovative and creative scientific proposals that address significant questions involving the respiratory system. The Joan A. O'Brien Research Award recognizes the talent of our trainees, an is presented in recognition of the best abstract presented at the VCRS Symposium by a resident, professional or graduate student.
VCRS Symposium
The Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society organizes our Annual Scientific Symposium (VCRS Symposium) which promotes scientific discussion and collaboration and provides a platform for presentation of new scientific knowledge by both established researchers and trainees. This event is hosted by the current president of the VCRS. The VCRS also sponsors lectures at major veterinary meetings throughout the year including VMX (formerly known as the NAVC conference) and ACVIM Forum.
VCRS Membership
With membership in the VCRS you can support quality scientific symposia directed to generalists, specialists, and researchers. You also receive a copy of the annual symposium proceedings, where you will find the first reports of cutting-edge research in pulmonary science, long before the information is available to the general scientific community. In addition, you benefit from the camaraderie of your fellow pulmonologists, making key contacts and rubbing elbows with the "movers and shakers" of veterinary and comparative pulmonology.
Join us in our mission to foster respiratory wellness in animals and humans.
